The first time that I used SeaFoam was when I lived in South Texas and bought a small boat with a 20hp motor that had sat for a month or so. It started well enough,but was slow and missed. I went to O'reillys and asked what would work to clean it out. The salesman sold me some SeaFoam,and mixed it double the recommended mixture. I took it out for a spin,and it started to run better with each minute. After that,I mixed it as instructed,and it improved until it really ran well. So for me it's been good and I use it every other tank in my vehicles. I may try that homemade stuff and see how it works. lha
