I wanna do a motor swap on my 84 Maxim 400, with a seca 400.

any road bumps i would have? Do they even cleanly swap over? does the 6th gear even make it worth wild?

I haven't done this swap (yet), but it should be straight forward. The gearing changes will have you shifting more often, that is all. And you will find the engine feels like it has even less torque due to the lighter crankshaft. Though it should rev up and down more willingly.

I'd suggest servicing the "new" motor before installing it. Replace all leaking gaskets, adjust valve clearances, clean it throughly, test the electrical components, etc...

I've done the swap on one project and planning on doing it in my next one...No issues.
It is the same engine, but with 6 speed tranny and lighter crank.

This is just a guess but I would think so,if it were me I would go for it, anything can be made to fit with a little fab...welder....tap and die...patience...
