Can't join a forum and not deliver right? Well here it is. 77 XS400, traded a pair of pants I bought for 60$ from the same guy. Pants was WAY too big for me. But they got me through till I got some AGV willows.
First thing I did was a clean and a chop.



that was just for fun. Not a big fan of big boxy tail lights blocking the view of a nice smooth low fender. Still no back fender will be on this puppy.

Aw yea! Minor rust reformed. Am I tripping or have I heard of treatments for inside of tanks that are prone to rust?.....Something that seals and coats the inside, anybody know?

Ready for the tear down...

Welcome! Looks like you're off to a good start. Love that model XS btw, think it's the nicest one style wise.

Not so sure about the rust preventing seal or coat, but it should be out there I think. On the other hand, as long as you get some ethanol free fuel in there and top it off regularly, I think the rusting will be minimal.

Go through this thread, especially installing the fuel filter will help a great deal.
