Tach and Starter block off

Hi all, building a 1981 xs400 special bobber, slowly but surely and have run into some head scratchers. I have taken off the tach but realize that i need to block off the hole which the cable enters into the top from. also need to find a way to block off the hole where the starter enters the side case. any suggestions? thanks!

someone used an auto plug, the ones that fit into the engine block for starter block off.

tacho, I cut a thread and used a bolt in there.
