time for new tires

Im ready for a new rear tire. I want to get the largest wheel I can. The bike is an 81 xs 400 special 2, the frame is original and not modified, what is the largest tire I can fit onit?

Mine has a 4.60 on it. I found a 4.75 but it wouldnt go on because of the chain. Soo not much bigger....

Wow, I didn't think anything larger than a 130/90 would fit w/o some mods, and some folks even had trouble with that size.

I'm assuming that's on a 16" wheel .120 is the limit on 18" wheels u
