Cleaning and rebuilding is starting soon and on my list I have:
Gas tank
Forks
Steering bearings
Oil and oil filters
My question is, do any of you have recommendations for the type of grease for the steering bearings, oil for the forks, and cleaner and liner for the gas tank? I'm anxious to get started.

This is what I use for grease and fork oil. I never had to clean a tank and line one so you may want to do a little net searching for ideas.

Thanks for the help, I had no idea what to do about grease especially. I'm trying to get everything together before I begin putting stuff back on the bike, so this is gonna help a lot.

I did my tank a few years ago with "Kream tank liner". I first cleaned and etched the tank with muriatic acid (diluted with water), let soak for some time, then rinsed with acetone. The Kream solution is quite thick, similar to maple syrup, so be patient. slowly rotate tank in all directions allowing enough time for the Kream to seep into every nook and cranny. I have had no issues at all with my tank since using this stuff.
Good luck.
