turn signal help

so im about to add the turn signals to my 79 xs 400
where i think the signals mount there is a big hole is this normal or am i missing something ???
unless that is not where they go
can someone post close up pics of there mounting of turn signals for me please
any help would be great

There should be a large rubber grommet with a chromed metal insert in that big hole.

Yep, and inside the grommet at the headlight is a plastic insert with a square boss to align the lamp on the headlight bucket. You can see the parts breakdown on any parts site. Used for years.

so i have done some looking around will the bushings/mounts from a 79 rd400 fit ??? found some for $6.00 each just dont know if they will fit

Don't know. Others more expert on this will help. I do know that Yamaha used lots of the same parts on different bikes.

well good news i hope.
i found some on ebay i know the front two are in the box of parts i orderd
but cant tell from the pic with all the stuff scatterd around to tell if the back ones are.
but at $20 for the box i can deal with it
also some other things like wire harness and that in the box as well
