VIN

Alright so I'm finishing up on the build and about to apply for a good faith title since the one for my bike was lost years ago... I look at the vin sticker (paper sticker.. thanks yamaha) and the sticker was scratched during storage or moving or something. Yay. I'm missing the last 4 characters. Are the anywhere else on the bike or am I needing a new frame?

Nevermind.. solved it. It's the end from the frame/motor number.

if the engine is original, then the engine number will be the same!

is there not a stamped vin on the neck right hand side?

There was the frame number which is not the entire vin in the u.s. In 1980 we switched to a 17 character system.. Not sure if it's the same in the UK. I was missing the last 4 characters and saw that the frame/engine number were tied in.

I know I may ask a lot of stupid questions, but I would at least post about wine in the Lounge!
