Hi.

When I get around 4000 rpm a buzzer starts in my speedometer casing. Sounds like a warning buzzer of some sort. When i get the motor in idle the buzzer stops but when i get around 3500 - 4000 the buzzer starts again. Thought it needed some engine oil, but oil level is fine. Can anyone help me ?

thx. Morten.

Never heard of this. What year and model is your bike....XS400, of course, but more specifically.

Sounds more like a vibration of some sort unless someone added something, well, stupid.

a wasp is living in there and doesn't like the tacho needle near its arse so it buzzes to let you know its unhappy!

or

its a loose binnacle vibrating with the primary vibes. mine's @ 5k rpm

i had a speedometer make a buzzing noise above 40 mph about three weeks before it stopped working.maybe the bushing the needle spins in needs some lube??
