I have a 1979 and the carbs on these are very different to the parts set I have from a 78. Curious to why there so different, what there off of, and if I should even run them? The main jet is a 132.5.....
The one on the right is from a 77-79 sohc xs400. The one on the left is from a 80-82 sohc xs400. Most of the parts will not swap between them. The only real things that will are jets and shaft seals.
OK so I have the right set of carbs for the bike. Why is needle free flowing/doesnt attach to the float or for this year it doesn't? And I see the stock jet size should be a 142.5 not 132.5 correct?
