I found a sprocket for a 1982 sj and was wonderin if that would fit on my 1981sg any help is appreciated

Pretty much everything from 81-82 is interchangeable on the xs400 sohc models.
Yup, but do a double check, Sould be able to use all the tools on the net for the double check.
1. Use a Parts OEM diagram web site: Partzilla, Boats.net, ... (many more) find the sprocket in your case, then when you click on the sprocket, it will tell you what other devices it will fit.
