Which model is my bike?

Hi All,

I have a XS400 which has been in the garage for a few years, I bought it off ebay and the guy had a whole load of extra parts including 2 spare engines.
Is there any way of knowing what year \ model my frame or engines are from?

Check the VIN on the frame and engines. Compare the first three digits of the VINs to the info in the "History of the XS400" thread and you should be able to narrow down what it's all from.

Turns out my frame (A202) is a 77 D and the engine (4G5) is a 80-83 SE
