Quick question..does the xs650 wire harness fit the xs400? I need to replace the wire harness in my xs400 b/c i cant quite find where the shortage is coming from and a lot of the cables are stripped and just worn down. Any ideas?

I think there is just enough difference per model, per year, you are better off to follow the Rewire from drewpy, listed in the tech section, and the on the main load up page.

How to: Rewire XS400. The beauty of this is, once you get your off the bike, and start un-sheathing the wires, or doing Continuity checks, The problem will pop at you. I only had to do the segment dealing with the Stator. Take some more time look up, you will find alot of suggestions to find all the Ground spots, and ensure its a good clean ground. This Summer prior to getting my bike running, I had a pulled all the wires off the back of the bike so I could put a fresh coat of paint on the back side. My worries was not all that bad.
