Wiring Question

Matched and connected all the wiring in the head light bucket. This one is a mystery. Can't seem to find this configuration (one in -two out) on the wiring diagram. 1981 XS400. Any clues? Thanks

It’s a ground connection. Off the top of my head there should be enough female bullet connectors to ground left/right signals, the headlight, and I believe one side of the handlebar controls also had a separate ground.

That's just an open ground. My 82 has the same and my 81 had this also. Not sure what it was for or if it was a left over from an earlier design.

Thats what we figured when we couldn't find it on the wiring diagram. Thanks for the confirmation!
