xs400-2F Craigslist Score Rebuild

Good afternoon Gentlemen. I recently found myself a nice little xs400 on Craigslist for free. The guy was moving to Arizona and didn't have any more room in his truck for his old bike so was giving it up. I'm going to be cataloging the repairs and refurbishments here for shits and giggles. So far I have repaired the headlight housing with JB-Weld and repainted the tank a solid matte black. Next comes cleaning the carbs, replacing the chain and tires, and working on the breaks.

Oh seems I was wrong. I thought the 2F didn't have spoke wheels. Thanks for the info

Thanks. I just got the engine to turn over the other day. I'm doing a full flush of the break system right now and getting the read pad piston unstuck from all the way locked onto the disc >__<. Then it's a new chain, and new tires, and my baby's good to go

The "F" has alloy wheels, disks front and rear, a bit more chrome, an electric starter and probably had a pinstripe on the tank at one time.

The "2F" has wires with drums, no electric starter and no pinstripe.

My 2F has wires, drums, no electric starter but it DOES have pinstriping on tank..
