After spending quite a bit of time on my redo of my bike over the winter,I was never really happy with it. It seemed half-assed since it was not polished enough to be a "chopper" and I had neither the tools or $ (or patience) to take it any further. Plus, I started out wanting a ratty bike to begin with, and I let a few articles in "the Horse" magazine got me off track. When I get $20,000 to spend on a bike, an old panhead and a machine shop I'll try the chop.

Anyway, here is my latest attempt, and my favorite by far. It is pretty much as finished as it is going to get, barring any little changes I come up with. The only real big thing I want to do is put a 21" front wheel on it, but I haven't found a decent one yet.

Looks good mate. What's the riding position like reaching for the bars and the stock footpeg position? Were you tempted by forwards? I would like to do a chop at some point but I have a dodgy back from too many snowboard crashes and I worry about the riding position damaging my back more.

It fits me fine. I did a mockup of forward pegs but it put all the weight on my back, now I can share it between the pegs. It actually is pretty easy on the back (leaf spring seat)but the front takes some wicked jolts when the back wheel hits a big bump so it can be tiring on the shoulders. I don't have any back problems but I can say if you are concerned it is not a luxury bike. 100 kms is about all I do in a stretch.

I'll have a video soon, maybe tonight.

wicked bike mate, I like the half polished half wrapped look on the headers!

we want a vid, we want a vid :bike:
