Question for you regarding your exhaust: is there any improvement to having the exhaust placement like yours? Performance, sound, etc? Or is it mainly a visual change that doesn't effect anything?

I ask as it seems raising the pipes would make your legs more susceptible to the heat. I know the wrapping in the one section helps with the heat but was curious as to your reasons behind the pipe relocation.

I think it looks awesome and am trying to decide what I'd like to do with my exhaust.
 
this is a harley sportster exhaust. I buyed it as a used item, but the guy, who owned it, "tuned" it - it's empty, and noisy: too empty and too noisy

speak about the performance is unnecessary - the carburettor diapragms are sick, at first I must change them.

at the pipes is hot. I will wrap'em normally, only I have 3 metres of bondage - I must order some more, two make it better.

Oh yes. Just we must change the carburettor diaphragms. I ordered a pair via ebay, it's waiting for installing.
 
I really like the tires,kinda dual purpose like my enduro.I too have an'82 xs400rj seca[don't know if same] and really like the motor,as they have a little more power than the rest.You could go a bit off-road on that machine.Great job,hope I can do 1/2 as well! lha
 
I have a similar look in mind for my bike,and have the seat from a 1200 Yamaha that is similar,but more padding for my old butt. I have a large,wide tank from a 550 Yamaha[meant to be covered up by body plastic]. I've been buying various accessories from Ebay[good deals] for a while,and will use a single VM 30 carb. Your bike has a great look,kinda retro/funky. lha
