The only headers that are feasible on that list are the XS250, 360, & 400. The others are completely different.

Hey everyone. Once my bike is back together, I'll be using pod filters and also running the stock headers with new mufflers with no more h-pipe. I know this will mean I'll have to re-jet in order for the bike to run correctly. Is there a tried and true way to figure out what size jets I'll need...

Yea, definitely a Special II. I can only assume the naming conventions used the same logic as putting "premium" on food products.

What kind of paint has everyone had the best luck with on the engine? I'm looking for a simple, OEM looking silver or perhaps a gunmetal.

This is actually coming together between a few friend's garages. Engine's at one, frame's at another, everything else is in my basement in Philly getting individual components rebuilt.

Started in on the engine a bit today. Pleasantly surprised to find everything much less of a shitshow than I expected, given the miles and the amount of grime that was on it when I got started.

PS- I accidentally bent the rear brake rod something fierce while carelessly lowering the jack. I suppose I could bend it back straight, but for the relatively low price and safety aspects, does it make more sense to just buy a straight rod?

Got the frame hoop welded up today with the help of my good friend Dan. Came out better than I could have hoped for. I'm quite happy with the results. I also cut the cross support and cinched in the frame by about an inch. The narrower profile really does it well.

Apologies for bumping this...I sent a PM as well. Did you run into any issues after narrowing the frame due to the rear suspension mounting at a slightly inward angle with regards to the top mount being in a different location?

Looks interesting, just make sure to keep your sternum away from that tank should you need to make any jarring stops.

Same reason everyone else does. Because they're fun. That said, I won't be swayed from thinking that street racing is an idiotic misadventure.

Considering just being on a motorcycle at all is dangerous enough, I think you'd have to be an utter fool to want to race someone on the street in an uncontrolled environment. Racing is for a track. Keep in mind that it isn't just yourself you're putting at risk.
