1977 XS400 Gas tank options

I recently purchased a '77 XS400, it didn't come with a gas tank, what are my options? I know the stock square tanks are pretty hard to get so I don't really need one. I'm trying to keep it under $100+shipping.

I had the same issue. The tank from 1978-81(2?) Will fit but you will have to change some mounting brackets. I was able to move the stock seat rearward because I chose not to use the rear fender. I saved one of the hinges and will relocate the second one. These tanks are all over ebay, or you might get lucky and find one here. Good luck!

This is how mine ended being mocked up before paint and body work. It is not the square tank look, but it retains the rear seat spoiler and my seat came out beautifully when I reupholsered it.
