XS400 New Member
I hate to do this but I need to raise some money for my son's HS graduation/College.
I have recently quit drinking and rebuilt an XS 400 as a diversion. I didn't want to sell it but I need the cash. So here it is. I'm asking $3500. I have right around $3000 in receipts and countless hours of labor into this restoration/build.
I have never built a motorcycle before; however, I have built several stock cars and restored a couple classics.
This bike is CLEAN from top to bottom. It looks like a new bike. I didn't bother to rebuild the engine because it only has 5,300 miles on it and had good numbers on the compression check.
I have completely stripped and sandblasted nearly every piece of the bike and either repainted or powder coated. I built a custom 2 into 1 exhaust with a Ducati muffler (sound sweet). I have polished the aluminum on the engine case. I have replaced every fastener that had rounded or stripped with stainless or OEM fasteners. Every bearing and seal is new, brass bushings, tires, chain, clip-on bars, ABS seat, new Shorai battery, Trailtech digital speedo/tach. Too many little goodies to list.
It still needs a few things: Title (I still haven't applied for one), carbs need jetted (haven't had the time), rear brake pedal/linkage still needs some tweaking) and the padding on the seat needs to be adhered (new from factory, unassembled).
