Found out why when trying to balance my carbs it was a nightmare, found this inside the brass vacuum pipe. some bright spark put silicone sealant down the hole!!!!
yeah those rubber caps make crap seals. Really tho I dispair at some of the things I come across as a mechanic.
Once I had a thundercat in for a new clutch, while I was putting it on the ramp I used the motor to pull the bike on it and a horrific noise came from the sprocket cover. Took the cover off and couldn't believe what I saw, a completely round sprocket with no teeth! I've still got it I used it as an example for my students when I was teaching. I'll dig it out and take a pic later
You should of heard the names the other mechanics in the workshop called the guy . (He wasn't there) He declined our offer of still fitting the clutch for him
