Hello from Europe's eastern block 
Got my '82 XS 400 DOHC few month ago. It was completely neglected by PO and was rotting in shed for 2 or more years. Completely non runner
After some time, patience, work and huge help from this forum. Yesterday finally got it running
Of course there is a ton of work left to do, but here is list of things done:
repainted frame
rebuilt carbs (with help of ultrasonic cleaning)
sorted ignition (also locks are changed)
readjusted valve clearances
some new engine gaskets
tach cable is back
and more...
