Hi, anyone knows that model air filters K & N carburetors fit in a Yamaha XS400 79, with carburetors BS34 ??? Here in Argentina is hard to find it and need some model to see whats the best option.

For direct replacement of the factory ones you need to find a set of RC-130 filters. I have only seen a few sets of these and k&n no longer make them. Next option is to measure the end of your H-pipe and find a set that will fit in the space you have. I used a set of K&N RD-0510 filters on my the same bike pictured with the RC-130 filters because I put those on my 82. I used the factory filter stubs to re-enforce them and something solid to clamp on. They are larger and will not fit in the bike if you still have the stock battery box. The only other option is to use a set of 54mm id filters to attach them directly to the carbs. I don't recommend that as tuning is not as well as with the H-pipe.

I bought these but haven't mounted them yet. http://japan.webike.net/products/20365759.html

They look good so far and seem to be good quality but they probably wouldn't be washable so they are disposable im guessing. They are packed with foam, seem to be a better option than those really cheap pods from ebay.

Unless you're stuck on K&N's I think that the UNI foams are regarded as the best option for pod filters.

I'm using the UNI PK-92 pods and they work great.

For being placed directly on the carbs uni's work well. I prefer K&N for use with the H-pipe.

I like UNI, give a racing look and the K & N with stamping XS.
Do not use H pipes, so I wanted to know options for a smooth functioning of the bike

k&n don't make the "XS" stamped ones. They are cheap knock off's sold here in the u.s. by mikesxs.net. They are not even close to the quality of the real ones. I have run these bikes under many different configurations. Using the H-pipe always seems to work the best:shrug:
I should add that the bikes that I have with the k&n filters (80,82) are running xs360 carbs in them. They are much more rich running carbs and easier to tune than any style used for the xs400.
