I have an oil leak coming from when the points are and I cant seem to tell exactly where it is leaking from exactly.

What behind there could be leaking and whats required to fix it?

the bike is a 78e with 9k miles on it.

There are two places where these bikes can leak from this area. First is the cam seal and the other is the rocker shaft plug. Clean the area good and then see where it is coming from after a ride.

Thanks xschris for the photos.

I know the rocker plugs are no longer available. What is required to replace the cam seal behind the points? Work wise I mean

Remove the points plate and the rocker box. Then new seal and put yamabond between the box and head surface. Its in the manual and much more detailed:wink2: I did it a while back and took maybe 45mins or so.

I have in the past used a little yamabond on the lip that makes contact with the metal and it worked great. Make sure the surfaces are clean!! Just use a little and push the plug in till it seats don't push hard so that it all gets squeesed out:wink2: Let it set for a few hours before putting the cover back on:) That's it.
