Tachometer lights up, Speedo doesn't. Ideas?

Hey team,

Riding my 81 xs400 last night and my speedo back light doesn't light up however my tach does. Any ideas? Fuse? My high beam is dead too, any correlation?

The bulbs eventually wear out. I'd open 'er up and replace them all. I don't think there is any correlation to the high beam. The main bulb is probably a dual filament type; if the low beam is working the high beam probably just burnt out.

It is possible you have a wiring issue, but always always always start by checking the bulbs. Never assume they are good.
