So back around end of November my bike started backfiring and stopped starting.

Through a lot of great advice here and some helpful info, I'm happy to report shes back and running so very much better. Got the shims in today after a semi timely delay from bikebandit, replace all the pads and the valves spec'd at:

lex: 18mm
rex: 17mm
lin: 13mm
rin: 14mm

After replacing those, reassembling everything, and fixing the rear brake light switch, I rolled her out to the garage(its a detatched garage), took it 2 cycles (starter on for a second or two, then off) but it kicked up. Idle'd better than ever and runs beautifully.

I cleaned the carbs and such when it was down and now the idle is super steady and it revs great.

Thanks everyone for the info and advice!! :) :) Now to fix the broken key chamber on the gas cap.. (Gonna pull it and try to figure things out)
