Thanks for all this info! I got it all sorted out, turns out, I had a bad relay! Put a new one in and all is well.

I discovered the problem. Bad flasher! Went back to the store and bought another one and problem fixed! Thanks for responding. Now on to that headlight...

Hi Leo, I have a 79 xs400 and I just bought this flasher, and I am confused about where and how this plugs in... I'm really new to bikes and REALLY new to working on them. I'm not even sure I can find the relay, is it possible you have any pictures that can help me out? Thanks, John

Hello everyone, I'm trying to replace my turn signals and headlight. I got the left rear light to light up but won't flash. These are standard lights not led's. I also bought an led relay but I don't know where or how it is connected. If anyone can help I would appreciate it! Thanks -John

I have already ordered new filters! Hopefully tomorrow I can take the carbs apart and clean them and change the oil. Recently the bike had sat for almost two weeks and now I'm wondering if that also has something to do with this. Thanks again for your help!

Thanks, as far as I can tell there is no gas in it. there doesn't seem to be any separation. Also the oil level is ok. could it be the oil breather? I started her up this morning and the was no leaks and the area under the bike is dry. I'm so confused and all this is very new to me. :umm:
