    Wanted - Mikuni BS34 Parts

I took my carbs off my bike and it appears the screw with a spring in between the two carbs which aligns the butterflies has somehow gone missing. Does anyone have an old set of carbs that they are just using for parts and might have this screw? Thanks

Rebuilt the carbs after I put the bike in storage and decided to polish the tops. Also received my new progressive shocks for next season.

    Xs400 adventure! Gear anyone?

Since it sounds like your from Canada, and trying to do this on a bit of a budget, check out the MEC online gear swap. You can find it on the website. Its often got things for cheap that people have bought and then used only a few times. Ive got a couple of steals off there before.

    Vroom's 79 Build Thread- scrambler/brat?

Yeah, definitely sounds like the coil. Next time it happens, touch the coils and see if they are really hot.

    Handlebars

Hey guys, for anyone running the "super bike" style bars, where did you get them from? I unfortunately didn't do enough research and looks like the ones I bought have a 4.25" centre width, and our bikes require 5". Looks like I wasted $40.

    Back pain

Im by no means a doctor, but my sister is a physical therapist. From what Ive learned talking to her about work, I think you need to go see a physical therapist. I believe it should be covered by your insurance. They arent going to prescribe you any more pills but they will show you exercises...

    muffler collars not sealing

I think you mean exhaust collars. I've never had to take mine apart so I can't see what you may have done wrong. The gap will cause an exhaust leak and cause you to run lean. Your engine isn't going to blow up but definitely work on getting that seated up tight.

What did you do with your XS today?

Upgraded the turn signals to tiny LED turn signals. Nice and bright and not nearly as ugly as the stock ones.

Travis on the forum here sells a hard tail kit for the XS400. The XS650 kit won't be a direct fit.

how to install new switch to the existing electrical wiring

The first one wont work (Theres actually a note in the ad saying that a relay wil be required) The second one, im not sure of but it sasy they are for 7/8" bars. The third one says its similiar to POSH. I bought my switches from POSh Japan and confirmed that they will work without relays.

how to install new switch to the existing electrical wiring

Drewpy is right. It might be easier to just buy new switches rather than have to run relays.

how to install new switch to the existing electrical wiring

Ok, for the headlight ON-OFF-ON switch, your switch has three connections on the back right? The blue/ red wire will go to the middle, the yellow goes to one side, and the green goes to the other side. Therefore when the switch is in the middle position (OFF) it is not making any connection...

    Wiring Question - Double/Single Pole? Double/Single Throw?

As for which wires to remove, search and you should find some threads of other people talking about it. Its too much to go over in one post. Im not sure what you mean by connections etc. Once you get started though, post any problems or questions here and we can try to help.

    Wiring Question - Double/Single Pole? Double/Single Throw?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single_pole,_double_throw#Contact_terminology Check out that page for a description of switches. For starter and horn, you want a momentarily ON push button switch. For a run/stop (or killswitch), you'll want a single pole, single throw or ON-OFF switch. ON...
