Hey all, just finished a top end rebuild (down to cleaning pistons/pin boss). Timing (points) looks all funny to me though. When the bike is running, the bolt at the center of alternator cover should turn counter clockwise, correct? L Advance marks, LF, LT, almost 1/2 turn of crank, then R...

Trying to adjust my points but this thing is in the way and I don't know how to adjust properly with it there. And I don't know what it so I'd rather have solid direction before fiddling with it.. Thanks ya'll

Hey guys so my right cylinder is not heating up so I wanted to check my points to make sure everything is timed right. After doing some research I found out that my bike has a solid state ignition system, does those ever need adjusting? or are they set forever? Thanks

so before my bike (77 XS360) was running pretty good except for a mean bog in mid range rpm's. so I pulled my carbs to do a more thorough cleaning. popped them back on and I can't for the life of me get the bike to stay running. the only thing I adjusted was idle. it will run for 3 or 4 seconds...
