Hey whats going on everyone. So I picked up a 1983 Maxim a few weeks ago. And I have slowly been going through it and cleaning it up and making sure everything is in good working order. It runs great has under 5,000 miles on it, carbs been cleaned and tuned, new tires, battery, lights. Had a small oil leak but it was missing a bolt in the oil pan plate so I put in a new one and no more oil leak. 
Well anyway I was looking to remove the seat and couldn't find anything for this year on how to do it. But I finally figured it out. Behind the seat in the glove box there are two wingnuts and two cotter pins, remove those and the seat pulls right up and out. I knew it had to be something easy but just had to figure it out.
