'77 vs '79

Hi gang - are there any/many major differences in engines between '79 and '77? My '79 needs a few things and I've found a '77 parts bike that looks to be in pretty fair order. Would be nice to save all the rooting around the internet for parts.
Specifically looking at swapping alternators/charging systems and possibly some carb parts.
