A guy I met has a 1974 XS500 for sale in super clean condition for $500

The bike is a TX500, that's what I got. I was mistaken when I first posted, but the bike later became the XS500.

The one he is giving me has clearly been garaged all it's life, very little rust on it, chrome still shines.

Yes probably predecessor to all the DOHC machines of the 80s.

If you could take the top end and use it on our xs400`s I would one.Good luck with it Mark.I have already had my share of problems with engines that use a balance shaft. Were you able to find a manual for the bike?
