adapting frame when mounting a HD Sportster tank?

Goodmorning!
Marcel from Holland here;
I have a 1979 XS 400, which i am gonna build into a chopper/bobber this winter;
i bought a Harley sportster tank; the frame has 1 central upper tube, with 2 smaller tubes on the side; should i remove these 2 tubes to mount the tank properly?
Does anyone maybe have pictures of XS''s with a sportster tank?

I just bought a complete beater XS500 yesterday evening; i think i can reinforce the frame on some other places and remove the 2 upper tubes.
I will keep ya posted!

most just mount the sporty tanks on top of the rails and call it done

yep, saw that picture too; i am gonna jump in to the bike next week, so i will see what fits me best.
