I'm wondering how then, there can be back pressure when the baffle is simply two pipes welded together routing exhaust from one direction into a zig zag pattern with nothing to restrict it. Besides, I can't believe Yamaha would sell a new bike that had a sound like straight pipes. Wouldn't pass sound level bylaws. Anyway, I did pack them with fiberglass and the sound is lower and most importantly, It runs MUCH better.
It is possible though, that these are not stock mufflers. That would explain a lot. Because there are hex screws on the back end of each to remove the baffles. So they must be aftermarket mufflers. Thanks everyone.
