Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is it a good idea to have your battery on it's side? Wouldn't that starve the top plates of electrolyte solution?

If it's a wet cell,yes. If it;s a gell type battery,no. lha

I'm using an alarm battery and I think its wet but sealed and doesn't leak
