Carburetor Float

I recently decided to take apart and rebuild my 1981 XS400 carb. After removing the float bowl and floats, I notice one of the brass floats had several pin hole. So I decided to bust out the solder gun and do some repair on my own. I bautched the solder job and will have to buy a new float. On eBay and other sites a single brass float is around $50.00. Question: are there less expensive option for the floats.....possibly plastic?
