errrrrr Newbie question......



Actually never mind I didn't have one of the rectifier leads connected to the battery properly so I was reading a bunch of unregulated voltage :doh: anyway never mind.:thumbsup:
 
Did you have a regulator hooked up too?

As for that reg/rec in your previous post, I dont think it will work.
I'm not familiar with the Hondas it's for but it looks like even though it has the right number of wires, two pairs are duplicates so there's no field coil connection.

I'd follow xchris's advice and use the stock units or get a combo unit that is actually for our bikes.
While it is pretty decent there aren't many other bikes that use the type of charging system used on our bikes so you are unlikely to find a cheap alternative.
 
Alrighty, Yeah I had the regulator hooked up to the wrong wires and silly stuff like that. I wired everything correctly and got no more then 14.5 volts on the battery. So unless this stuff fails then I think I'll stick with the stock setup.
