Good day, fellow riders!
I'm considering upgrading my '81 XS with a pair of Emgo mufflers – I am yet to decide which ones I will get, but that's not the point. I'm not entirely sure whether or not my XS has a separated exhaust system. I've found '78 diagrams, where the muffler is only MOUNTED to the header, and therefore there's no need to cut anything down, leaving a back door should anything go wrong. Now this is my bike exactly:
I haven't been able to get an inspecting look at the crossover, so I'm not sure. But since the exhausts look the same as the 78's, I'm judging they COULD be separated? Unlike from the Heritage Specials, those megaphone type mufflers. Thanks for your input!
