Got my main bracket fabbed up for my forward controls. I used 7/8 O.D. DOM tubing for the outer controls, and 5/8 O.D. for the inner sleeves. The pivots for the shifter and brake I put on the lathe and took a couple thousandths off the inner I.D. so they wouldn't bind and I had room for grease. I used 1 1/4" flat steel for the brackets from the front motor mounts to the controls, and 1" flat steel fron the frame to the controls to brace the assembly and eliminate up and down movement. It does block the oil filter, but if I remove 3 bolts I can drop it out of the way, and 5 bolts removes the assembly and rods. I plan on plug welding my inner tubes to the center tube and spacers, the footpegs will be held on with bolts in 2 places so I can change the footpegs if I need to. I saw a few kits on the market but they look flimsy and I didnt like the strange angles that the shifter rod and brake rod were run. With these the brake rod and shifter rod will run parallel with the frame.
