This is my method for mounting pod filters onto the rubber intake runners allowing for more clamp purchase to the rubber components.
(I Can't get photobucket to upload images properly so just follow attached images by step)
1) I took a spare intake cross over tube and cut the flanges from both ends.
2) Cut the baffle from the inside of each flange.
3) Filed the rough cuts on flange. to get all the burrs/ XS off used a soldering torch to evenly melt it smooth.
4) Install flange into the filter end of the intake runner. Sits flush and tight as intended.
5) Clamp the filter to the runner. Now the clamp won't collapse the rubber parts when tightened.
6) Install filter assembly to carbs. (easier to do with carbs on the engine didn't have carb boots when took pics HaHa!)
thought I'd share my idea/ how to, hope you can use it.
let me know what you think.
