I don't think I have seen it. Well I just googled it and didn't bring up anything. Has anyone ever seen or built an open primary for the xs400? Like the big choppers have the 3" open belt primary. And I don't know if it can be done on a limited budget or if its mechanically possiable. Any help is appreciated thanks in advance

The big choppers have a transmission separate from the engine- this makes it much easier. With these, the transmission and engine are integrated and there is a wet gear link from the engine to transmission, not a chain or belt.

With enough money anything can be done. Now cost effective means another thing. Is it cost effective to convet a one oil system to a sealed engine and tranny with a dry clutch and primary, not in my world.
