Hey guys, just finished putting a few shakedown miles on my xs and it occurred to me I should probably change the oil. A friend recommended 10w40 oil. Should I run some through and flush the system or is it better to just let it mix with whatever old stuff is in there? Also is the a proper way to drain the oil -thanks

sohc xs400 uses 20w-50 for wet clutches. Make sure to put a new oil filter in it and clean/drain the sump screen. There are threads on this in the forum just use the search function :) Post some pics of what you have. We love pics.

Dunno if that worked. But if it did this is what I've got so far. Thanks for the advice on the oil. I've been running
10w40. Is my clutch still going to be ok?

Just make sure the oil is approved for wet clutches. Nice bike. Post some more pics and do a write up on it. People can get some ideas from others bikes on there own builds.
