Just picked up another Special II

Just picked this 80 Special II for 150 bucks. Its in rough shape and I didnt hear it run, however the guy I bought it off of said it ran about a month ago after sitting for 6 years (it appeared to have spent that time at the bottom of a lake). Well sure as shit it fired up when I got it home. It ran a bit rough so I put in new (used) plugs and it runs stronger than my other xs400. Even pulled the front wheel and blew the dry rotted tire on touchdown. It had a bunch of bolt on accessories which I am now removing as well and changing out the tire. I used some of that Eagle One etching Mag cleaner on the engine and it worked great.

The pictures make it look better than it is. Worked on it a bit tonight and all the joy of getting it running was just overshadowed with the joy of broken bolts and delaminated brakes shoes lol.

I have done a bit of cleaning up and it is running well enough to take on short rides. For some reason my headlight quit working so I hope using the fast battery charger to get it to start last week didnt burn anything up.
