Leaky Petcock

Ive got what seems to be a simple problem. The line that goes from my petcock on my
'81 xs400 drips small droplets of gas when I set it on "res" or "on". I only noticed this when I took my carbs off for a clean and the line was dangling loosely. I understand the petcock is vaccum operated and shouldnt be letting anything through on those two settings. I just ordered a petcock repair kit which comes with a gasket and some o-rings.. Realistically do you guys think thats all I need? or could the problem be more complex than that?

I hate leaky petcock and also when my bike drips gas. But seriously, good place to start.

You won't know until you open up the tap, inspect the inside - especially the seat where the o-ring seals off gas flow - and install the kit. If all is well, the problem will be cured.
