I am replacing the ancient pads on my bike but am not sure which are the right ones. I am taking Drewpy's advice & going ebc brand but does anyone know if an 81 xs250sh requires the ebc fa034 or fa041.

Cheers.

I have found a local shop that is clearing out old stock & selling the rear shoes for $30. I am thinking of labelling my bike 30bux as that is what most of the parts cost.

I will be picking them up on tuesday along with new rear bearings at $12 a piece.

the squarish calipers take the FA034 and the pivot swing calipers take the FA041.
standard is FA034

Thanks again Drewpy. From what product pics I could find on the interwebs I think I have the FA34 but not sure what you mean by the pivot swing type. Here is a pic of the caliper.

Cheers.

those are the pivot swing ones. they have a large pivot above and swing side to side to ride the disk.

Thanks again Drewpy. What initially confused me was that my pads have no groove in the middle & all the pics I could find showed the fa34 with no groove in the pad. I see now that the designs are very different.

Cheers. :bike:
