whats going on you guys? I been stalking the forums for a couple of years now. I remember seeing someone post a pic of my bike that they found on craigslist. Figured i might as well introduce myself. my names Ron. I got a 82 maxim that was already chopped. It ran pretty good, just small issues. During the summer i ran into some electrical issues and started to tear the bike down a bit. Then I had to move and never picked up where i left off. I been getting the urge to ride again and instead of biking another bike, figured i might aswell put some time and effort into this. I kinda want to do a drop seat bobber but the frame on this maxim sucks ass. Not sure if i should do a frame swap or what direction i want to go... Any advice? otherwise im willing to sell. It ran before i took the electrical apart. Nothing is cut as far as wiring just disconnected. It will need a new ignition cause i lost the keys to it. The locksmith made me a new key but fucked up my ignition. Clean title. .... Just lost on what to with this bike.

Welcome.
If you don't love the shape of the frame you will at least love the performance of the dohc if you persist with it.
You might be interested in this thread. Bentwrench restored his Maxim to original and then, the following year, took it all apart and customized it. Maybe you will like some of the things he did.

There are lot you can do but like anything is all about money and time. Welcome.
