I need a rear caliper. There are tons available for the 650, 750, and 850, but I'm not sure if the actual caliper itself will work in the stock 400 caliper holder. I've checked boats.net, but it looks as if the holder and caliper are treated as an assembly, and given the different axle diameters/offsets/wheels between the models, it's not showing as compatible.

Does anyone know if the caliper itself from a 650/750/850/1100 will fit in the holder from a 400?

the same style xs650, 750,1100 will fit as they are Yamaha parts bin items of the eara. just watch that they are rear ones and you'll find the bleed nipple in a different place if you use a front one.

I have SR 500 front on my front dual disk set up! (its a left caliper fitment)

Sweet!

I had gotten a rear caliper from an R6, when I snagged some rear sets, and I was hoping I could use that caliper somehow, but I don't think I can. The holder for the R6 caliper actually helps hold in the pads, so I doubt I could take just the caliper and use it with the XS400 holder. Oh well.
