So I just bought a 1982 yamaha seca 400 and I am building my own wiring diagram. I am using on relays and the old ignition and rectifier. I was looking at my bike and there is four wires besides the three yellow wires coming from the rectifier. I looked as many diagrams as I could find and they all seem vague in this area to which wires do which. there is a red that comes from the battery and then there is a green, black, and brown. Is the black a ground? Do rectifiers even need a ground. and are the other two just A/C current to the rest of the components? Are the green and black the same thing?:banghead:

Ooops I forgot to add I know the yellow wires are coming from the stator

Do the brown and green connect as a voltage regulator? I am looking at a diagram and I see the voltage regulator but I cant find one on my bike. is it built into my rectifier? Are they one unit?

THis is the link for the diagram I am using
