XS400 Junkie
sometimes I really love craigslist..
I saw an ad for 77 XS400 parts...checked it out and got....
mag front wheel w/disc brake...new Metzler tire and wheel bearings
mag rear wheel w/disc brake....practically new tire and new wheel bearings
rear swingarm,cleaned/painted w/ new broze bushings installed
front forks in good condition
and early style fuel tank paint stripped and cleaned just needs primer/paint
front/rear calipers w/new pads and brackets intact
rear master cylinder
all for $100 and a 3 hr roadtrip(+$50 gas!!)
this should get me well along on my conversion...and save me a bundle on my parts list!
all in all ...a good day for a change.
One note....the early square style XS 400 tank is shorter than the later tear drop style...it will work on the frame but requires relocating the rear tab mount.
