Hey all,
I took the xs400 out yesterday for it's first shake down run after installing new tires and doing some maintenance over the winter months. All is well but I need to adjust the rear brake and the clutch. The issue is that the clutch is disengaging right near the end of the lever travel. I followed the instructions in the manual to adjust but it's still the same. Basically I turned the adjuster at the lever all the way in, then loosed the lock nut on the main adjuster on the left side of the engine. I turned the screw in until I felt resistance and backed off 1/4 turn, then locked down the nut. It didn't change anything. Is this the symptom for a stretched clutch cable? Is there something at the lever I'm not doing right?
